Description

The annual TECNA Summer Conference is a three-day event focused on sharing best practices and strategies to help technology council staff grow their tech council and increase their value to members, sponsors and stakeholders in their communities.

This gathering of North American tech associations and councils helps renew TECNA community connections while offering a glimpse at the tech ecosystem of our member host. Content will focus on building partnerships, examining trends and practices, and growing your organizations.

The 2022 TECNA Summer Conference will be held July 20-22, 2022, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and hosted by TECNA member Pittsburgh Technology Council.

Hear from three dynamic leaders who are driving inclusive talent development initiatives across North America. Panel includes: Stephanie Weber, Director of Regional Initiatives for the National Center for Women & Information Technology; Jennifer Carlson, Co-Founder & Executive Director for Apprenti; Jake Lounsbury, Director of Global Partnerships, Chief Science Officers International. The panel is moderated by Justin Driscoll, Senior Director, Market Development, TechElevator.

This track is for CEOs looking to find success in building and working with their board and also for TECNA members’ boards to attend. This two-part session will be led by Jim Daniell of Revol LLC and board member of MassTLC. Among Daniell’s areas of expertise is helping nonprofits accelerate their own efforts to transform the organizations for greater scale and impact.

Christy Uffleman, Founder and CEO, Edge Leadership Solutions, executes the highly successful Edge Women’s Leadership Series. This 9-month cohort promotes critical thinking and coaching skills, building a strategic network, personal branding, and inclusion. Christy is the author of The PEER Revolution, Group Coaching That Ignites the Power of People.

This session will provide an overview of an outreach and retention plan developed and executed by the Pittsburgh Technology Council with their 1,100 member companies. This effective program boasts of an 84% + membership retention rate.

Pittsburgh has become a hub of self-driving vehicle research and development. TECNA members will be socializing and fittingly celebrating our innovation and success at the dynamic self-driving vehicle company, Aurora, located in the heart of the Strip District in Pittsburgh.

Transportation: Two trolleys will depart the Wyndham Downtown at 4:45pm for Aurora. And two trolleys will depart Aurora for a return trip to the Wyndham at 7:45pm.

Four years ago, the Colorado Technology Association (CTA) implemented the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) as explained in the book Traction. CTA’s CEO Frannie Matthews and COO Monica Coughlin will discuss their journey.

Come one, come all - if you are interested in debriefing your education, workforce, and talent takeaways from this year’s conference. All members of this Community of Interest and others are encouraged to come together one last time for a less formal, but nonetheless substantive, discussion. We’ll talk inclusive tech talent, dealing with the changing labor market, international migration issues, STEM pipeline, and more. During the session we’ll also seek your input on the next TECNA Workforce Survey.

Cost: $500 USD/person


Cancellation Policy
You may request to cancel your registration for a full refund, up to two weeks (July 6, 2022) before the date and time the event begins. Cancellations between July 6 - July 13 may receive a 50% refund. Cancellation requests made within one week of the event's start may not receive a refund.
